You better agree with me. My parents really wanted me to take-up dentistry even when I was still in high school. Even though I was the stubborn type, I gave in to their wishes since they’ve been very loving parents. Also, I believe that along with medicine, one of the most desired professions in mankind’s history is dentistry.
But after long years of continuous studies (hey, even at work, people should learn from their everyday activities!) and dental operations that I’ve conducted on my patients, there was still that thought inside my head telling me that something’s still lacking – innovative knowledge and skill to bring the best in me as a dentist! I’m also getting a little bored. What a shame!
It was just last year when my Dad and I were looking for a place to stay in Sharjah in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. because of his meeting with client there when everything about my perspective in my field changed. Of course I wanted to take the opportunity to come with him since I’m a foodie (food & travel blogger) and I’m craving for authentic Arab food, not to mention that I was hearing a lot of good things about the city. I’ve already tasted Chinese and Thai cuisine (my fave’s Pad Thai by the way!), Naples’ world-famous Pizza Margarita, and of course, Tokyo’s Octopus Sushi (yum!) – BUT NEVER ARAB FOOD. Let me repeat it: N.E.V.E.R.
And never did I imagine myself being in an audience in a seminar inside an Arab school. And boy, it was a lot of fun (and discovery, of course)!
SULTARC or Sharjah University Laser Training and Research Center is an international school for laser dentistry devoted to conduct research works to contribute to the development of guidelines for the effective usage of laser technology in the Middle East (including topnotch clinical education).
I strongly agree with my colleagues in the seminar that I have attended last Sept. 23-26 that this is the best school in the United Arab Emirates. Why? First, they have this primary goal to deliver programs with encompassing and relevant clinical sciences for the safest-possible applications of laser in surgery and dentistry with their international dental laser course. And they are able to achieve this by conducting a series of comprehensive lectures, hands-on training, and one-on-one practical workshops.
Second, SULTARC always reminds itself of meeting its members’ client’s maximum satisfaction through sophisticated dental technology aside from the intensive trainings, seminars, and workshops to help boost every dentist’s over-all professionalism.
Third, its annual IDLC (International Dental Laser Course) at tackles the latest and the most innovative dental procedure conducted by global experts in the field. Their dentistry-specific course included lectures, presentations, hands-on practices, and modular discussions, (not to mention SULTARC’s state-of-the-art classrooms!
Fourth, SULTARC’s IDLC is fully accredited by Laser and Health Academy of Europe and Sharjah University of UAE! (Now that’s something the school has to be proud of!)
Lastly, I believe it is certainly the best school in U.A.E. because SULTARC is the foremost institution dedicated to promote good dental health in Sharjah.
